About Us

Six decades of excellence in transportation education, research, and innovation

Our History

Founded in 1960 as the Frunze Institute of Railway Engineers, Kyrgyz University of Transport has been at the forefront of transportation education in Central Asia for over six decades.

Initially focused on railway engineering to support the development of the Soviet railway network, the university has evolved into a comprehensive institution offering programs across all modes of transport and related engineering disciplines.

Today, we continue to honor our legacy while embracing innovation, preparing graduates for the challenges of modern transportation systems including sustainable mobility, smart logistics, and digital transformation.

Our alumni have gone on to lead transportation ministries, major railway corporations, logistics companies, and engineering firms throughout Central Asia and beyond.
